Untapped Potential

The religious will tell you that scientists are not God
It is clear to me that scientists must be very much like God

They are already creating suns
Why not make the moon as well

And new plants with new fruit
And new animals with new offspring
By cloning--animal asexual reproduction
The first clones are the luckiest of them all
They are more likely to be given names
Read about in science text books
Remembered with recognition

Like Dolly

If I had insight and foresight regarding the future of the speedily evolving field of genetics
I would tell you that there is no other branch of medical science with as much potential
I would tell you that scientists have hardly begun to tap into the nature of DNA
I would tell you that there is nothing corrupt or immoral about genetics
I would tell you that human intelligence can be genetically improved
And as you already suspect that stem cells will yield cures
For some of the most impossible to cure diseases
Impossible is a very scientifically stifling word
I recommend attempting the impossible
So that what was called impossible
Will soon be called possible
Despite limitations
And setbacks
Or doubt
